As part of the commemoration of the third centenary of the Royal Pottery and Porcelain Factory of Alcora (1727-2027), Torrecid is joining the “Excellence Returns Home” initiative, promoted by the City Council, by temporarily lending one of the most unique pieces in our collection.
This is “The Massacre of the Innocents,” an 18th-century polychrome fountain that stands out for its rich colors, the meticulousness of its decoration, and its monumental scale (59.6 cm in diameter), making it one of the few examples of its kind preserved in the world. With this piece, we aim to contribute to a cultural project that will bring together in Alcora some of the most important works produced by the Royal Factory, currently scattered among museums and international collections.
This loan, which can be visited at the Alcora Ceramics Museum from March 26 to July 26, reflects Torrecid’s commitment to the history and ceramic identity of Alcora, promoting initiatives that highlight its heritage and cultural significance.
